El lineup de este festival siempre es espectacular y este año no es una excepción. Cuando actué allí con The Gentle Storm, fue un día muy caluroso; lo recuerdo perfectamente. El sitio era realmente bello y había un muy buen ambiente, tanto frente al escenario como detrás del mismo. ¡Hay un gran equipo trabajando para este festival!
Realmente creo que el Be Prog! My Friend ya se ha convertido en un festival icónico dentro de la escena más progresiva.

Be Prog! My Friend es un festival deliciosamente basado en la contradicción: apuesta por un género musical tan variado como específico; se celebra en un espacio amplio pero íntimo; su cartel no distingue entre bandas jóvenes y legendarias; y su escenario permite montajes propios de grandes festivales sin perder la calidad de sonido ni la proximidad de un concierto de sala. No es de extrañar que en tan pocas ediciones se haya convertido ya en una referencia internacional para cualquier amante del
rock progresivo.
De nuestro paso por allí recuerdo lo extrañamente cómodos que nos sentimos en el escenario, a pesar del sol cegador y del reto que supone compartir espacio con nombres de la talla de Opeth y Steven Wilson. Seguramente ayudaron el calor del público, el hecho de jugar en casa y el inmejorable trato que recibimos por parte de la organización, cuyo trabajo está siempre por encima de las expectativas más exigentes. Sin duda, uno de los mejores festivales en los que nunca hayamos tocado.

Creo que lo que hizo que nuestra experiencia en el Be Prog! My Friend fuera tan especial, según mi opinión, fue el ambiente en sí que se respiraba en el festival. No solo la ubicación, que es hermosa en sí misma, sino aquel ambiente familiar y de camaradería, de gente muy abierta de de mente; una aceptación sin precedentes para nosotros. El amor que sentimos al saltar al escenario fue tremendo.

¡Realmente disfruté mucho actuando en el Be Prog! My Friend! La ubicación del festival, en aquella hermosa plaza con vistas a Barcelona, fue una más que agradable sorpresa y, por supuesto, siempre existe la posibilidad de poder disfrutar de una tarde cálida. Y ese buen ambiente…
Estaría encantado de regresar.

Después de haber tocado en varios festivales durante el verano de 2017 , me atrevería a decir en nombre de todos los miembros de la banda, que ha sido uno de los festivales que más hemos disfrutado. El recinto es espectacular, básicamente es como tocar en un museo arquitectónico al aire libre con un montón de gente apreciando, valorando y respetando el tipo de música que hacemos.
Respecto al tipo de público que consume estos festivales, puedo decir que sabe a lo que va. No es un festival de moda, masificado de gente que va solo para lucir palmito y que conoce a tres bandas del cartel, el público que va al Be Prog! My Friend es diferente sin lugar a dudas.
Si tengo que hablar de mi experiencia como músico en el festival, fue alucinante. Ver un recinto de esas características lleno hasta la bandera a las cinco de la tarde, con gente disfrutando de lo que haces, es impagable y seguramente irrepetible para una banda como nosotros, que no muchas veces se nos presentan oportunidades de esta magnitud.
Desde aquí, agradecer a toda la organización el trato maravilloso que nos dieron y sobretodo la oportunidad de estar ahí, rodeado de los más grandes de esta escena raruna y diferente.

El espíritu y el buen rollo que transmiten los promotores de este festival, así como un entorno impresionante convierten al Be Prog! My Friend de Barcelona en un evento muy especial, y estoy encantado de poder haber formado parte de él.
Lo pasamos genial, un gran espectáculo, y fue mucho más divertido de lo que esperábamos. El público de Barcelona siempre está muy receptivo a Marillion, así que fue una noche memorable.

Todos allí reunidos para, probablemente, ser parte del principal evento de rock progresivo y del mejor festival de metal de Europa. El Be Prog! My Friend no solo ofrece oscuras bandas internacionales que siempre has querido ver en vivo, sino que también logran poner sobre las tablas a algunas de las mejores dentro de la escena: Opeth, Steven Wilson, Meshuggah, Devin Townsend y… qué pensar de los cabezas de cartel de este año… ¡A Perfect Circle! ¡Nada mejor que comerte una buena paella con esos compases tan raros sonando de fondo!

Subirse al escenario del Be Prog! My Friend y admirar a la maravillosa multitud congregada en el Poble Espanyol es algo que jamás olvidaré. Nunca olvidaré las cervezas gigantes y el tamaño de mi resaca cuando regresaba a Londres.
Este Be Prog! siempre nos sorprende con unos lineups de primera, superiores, y The Pineapple Thief tuvo la suerte de ser parte de uno de ellos. ¡Larga vida!

Leprous hizo un concierto con un
setlist a petición del público, y normalmente no somos el tipo de banda a la que le importe demasiado lo que la audiencia quiere oír, sino que nos gusta tener la libertad de escoger lo que nosotros queremos interpretar en directo.
El Be Prog! 2017 ha sido el mejor concierto que dimos ese año… de largo, y creo que el hecho de plantearlo así creó unas expectativas que ayudaron bastante a ello.

Siempre consiguen traer a una gran selección de bandas, y el lugar es absolutamente impresionante y único. Siempre hace sol, hay un gran ambiente y cuenta con un excelente sistema de sonido y de luces. Además, Barcelona es mi ciudad favorita de Europa, con un ambiente inigualable, buena comida, arquitectura y su gente. ¡Estoy ansioso por el próximo! Estoy particularmente entusiasmado de poder ver a Oranssi Pazuzu en un lugar tan maravilloso.

The lineup for this festival is always spectacular and this year is no exception. When I played there with The Gentle Storm it was a very hot day and I remember it well. The site was really beautiful and there was also a good atmosphere, both in front of the stage and backstage. There’s a great team behind this festival and I believe Be Prog! Not just the location, which is beautiful itself, but the vibe of familiarity, open-mindedness, and acceptance was totally unprecedented for us. After having played in several festivals during the summer of 2017, I would dare to say on behalf of all the members of the band, that it has been one of the festivals we have enjoyed the most. The venue is spectacular, basically it’s like playing in an open-air architectural museum with a lot of people appreciating it, appreciating and respecting the music we do.
Regarding the type of audience that come to these festivals, I can say that they know what to expect. It is not a fashion festival, crowded by people only going to show off and know only three bands of the lineup. The audience of the Be Prog! My Friend is different without any doubt.
If I have to talk about my experience as a musician, I can only say it was amazing. To see an enclosure of those characteristics crowded at five o’clock in the afternoon, with people enjoying what you do, is priceless and surely unrepeatable for a band like us, which often do not have the chance of joining something like this, of this magnitude.
From here, to thank the entire organization for the wonderful treatment they gave us and above all the opportunity to be there, surrounded by the greatest of this rare and different scene.

The Be Prog! My Friend of 2017 it was the first time that Leprous offered a gig with a setlist at the request of the public, and we normally are not the kind of band that cares too much about what the audience wants to hear, but we always like to have the freedom of choose what we want to play live.
The Be Prog! 2017 was the best concert we had that year… by far, and I think the fact of raising it the way we did created some expectations that helped a lot.

They always bring a really great selection of bands and the venue is just absolutely stunning and unique. there’s always sun a great atmosphere, great sound system and lights. In addition, Barcelona is my favourite city in Europe, with a vibe second to none, great food, architecture and people. I’m very much looking forward to the next one.
